Creating Cards

Hi!

It's been a long time since I posted, but that's because I've been so busy!

I have been busy creating cards. Lots of them, in fact.

I've also moved to a new town to be closer to my family, and I am slowly building my life up with positive people that encourage me to do things.

This has led to me finding a card making group. There is a lovely lady here, who is a Stampin Up demonstrator, and she runs weekly classes featuring the different products. It is awesome. I love playing with all the products and learning new techniques that I might not have tried at home by myself. It also means that I'm meeting new people and slowly making friends.

It also gives me purpose. I no longer sit at home for the whole day, watching seasons of tv shows in one go and eating crappy food.

I promise I shall get some photos up soon!

Until my next post,

Rosalinda.

Finally started creating again.

I've started creating again. Saw this particular one in the latest Cardmaking magazine. It's called colour blocking. Yes, this term is generally applied to fashion, however, now it is being applied to cards. So this was my attempt. Of course, it doesn't look exactly like the one from the magazine, as I like to put my own twist on things. The only challenge with this card, is getting the widths between the separate pieces right. Other than that, this was quite a fun little card to do. I think it took me 30 minutes this arvo to whip up.

My Craft Area

Hello and Welcome to my little Craft Area. It’s not much, but as a uni student, I can’t afford to kit it out in lovely splendour (plus the landlord might not agree with me either.) But it is a cute little place that I’ve made into my craft area. Have a look around. It’s slightly messy at this present time but I figured it would be more authentic to me if I left it how it normally appears.

My desk, where I do my creating. It looks out onto the backyard and pretty flowers.

Next to my desk, a little roller draw that houses my stickers, rub-on's, stuff for my die-cutter system, brads, and many more glorious things. On top of the roller desk is that little pink bag you see... well it holders all my tools and I can just pick it up and transport it with me. Lovely. Keeps everything together and neatly organised.

I also use the top part to put my Big Shot machine when I need to use it.

Up above my desk, ribbons are in the little smiley face holders :) Current stuff that I am using is pinned on. As you can see, many Christmas themed things as that is what my cards are mostly about in this current moment.

Close up of some die cut products I have been using (hence the missing holes)

All of it together in a long shot.

 My protector.

Across the other side of the room, is the rest of my stuff, organised on a shelf and a box. It has papers (so many papers) my Big Shot, my empty craft bags set, glue gun and many more fabulous things.

A close up of my Big Shot die-cutting, embossing machine.

A recently made Christmas card.

Not Christmas, but a recent male-themed card.

That card was for my dad. I always find male cards hard to do but that could simply be because I need more products ;)

There you go. A tour of my crafting area. It's very low-key and made up of  furniture that I had but decided to re-purpose for a good cause. I don't need a bookshelf, right? Much better off holding craft materials and finding my books another home.

Hope you enjoyed the post, comments are much appreciated :)

Welcome to Enchanting Cards!

Hi there.

Welcome to Enchanting Cards!!

If you have followed me over from my other spot, thanks for clicking. If you've googled search and found me, hi as well. If you've stumbled across me by accident, please, don't leave. Stay and have a nice cup of tea with me and have a browse through my lovely cards.

This is my new blog, specifically set up to host my cards that I have made, am making, etc. This is to demonstrate how beautiful they are, and to allow other people to coo over. Some people have babies or animals, I have cards.

I have been dabbling in the card world for about two years now. To start with originally, I was trying my hand at scrapbooking. Now I know there are some wonderful people who can scrapbook so well, but I am not one of those people. So in the event of getting frustrated with myself, I decided to mess around one day with my supplies and make a card. I found my new love and I am not leaving it.

I also follow many other card-makers on the intwerwebs, and I love getting the Australian Cardmaking Stamping & Papercraft magazine, and I get plenty of inspiration from these sources. It also occasionally gives me then envious thoughts "Why is she so good?" "How can I be that good?" "I WANT TO BE THAT GOOD!" which I have to rein in and say to myself gently "She's been doing it longer then you have. You will get there."

So that's my introduction of how I got here and why I started a new blog. If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see, leave me a comment.

The next post will be my craft space and how I manage to store all my supplies in such a tiny space.

Thanks for reading :)
